In the UAE, the postal services and operations are managed by Emirates post. There are overall 110 branches in UAE with 34 branches in Dubai itself. Since 1909, Empost is providing its services in the UAE region. It works with an aim to provide innovative postal, financial and logistics services to its customers.
Services provided at the Emirates Post
The facilities at the Emirates Post are not limited to the postal services, they also provide several non-postal services like government-related services, document services, parcel services, money transfers, marketing solutions and much more.
Postbox Services
There are different postbox services provided like,
1. Business P.O.Box
This is for the companies who want to get a P.O.Box on paying some rent.
Features:
- Personalized services are provided for the organizations
- Different categories are available like bronze, silver, gold, p.o.box light, p.o.box standard, business virtual p.o.box
- The annual fees charged on the p.o.box varies with the different categories that range from AED 900-AED 12,000
Procedure: Customers can visit a nearby post office, fill the form and pay the fees to get a Business P.O.Box.
2. Public P.O.Box
This is for the travelers where they can get a shared P.O.Box number in order to collect their parcels from the nearby post office
Features:
- Helpful for frequent travelers
- AED 15 is charged as fees
Procedure: Customers can visit a nearby post office, fill the form for Public P.O.Box and pay the fees to avail services.
3. My Box
This is for the individuals who need a P.O.Box
Features:
- Can get mails at P.O.Box at Emirates Post office
- Can access the P.O.Box online
- Can get notified when you have any incoming mails/parcels through “Eshaar” notification service
- AED 250 is charged as annual fees
- For a new P.O.Box, AED 70 is charged
Procedure: Visit the nearby post office with valid documents like passport, residence visa(Non-UAE nationals), National ID card and two passport sized photographs.
4. My Home
This is particularly for the residents who stay in villas
Features:
- A private post box will be installed in front of the house
- Can avail postal services online
- Get notified on the mails and parcels that you are going to receive
- AED 750 is charged for receiving/sending parcels once a week and AED 500 is charged for receiving/sending parcels twice a week
Procedure: Customers can visit the nearby post office with valid documents like passport, residence visa(Non-UAE nationals), National ID card and a copy of the ownership letter.
5. My Zone
For the individuals staying in residential and commercial areas, a zone p.o.box will be set up.
Features:
- P.O.Box shelters are placed
- Can access the P.O.Box online
- AED 300 is charged as annual fees
- AED 70 is charged for first-time registration
Procedure: Customers can visit the nearby Emirates Post with identity proofs like passport, residence visa(non-nationals) and national id to set up the Zone P.O.Box in their locality.
6. My Building
Individuals residing in the building can avail this
Features:
- Can get parcels at the P.O.Box installed at the building
- Can avail Eshaar notification facility
- Access the P.O.Box online
- Annual fees of AED 450 is charged
- AED 70 is charged for first-time registration
Procedure: Customers can visit the nearby post office with valid documents like passport, residence visa(Non-UAE nationals), National ID card and a copy of the lease contract.

Courier Services
Individuals, organizations, government organizations, everyone can avail courier services in UAE. They provide both international and domestic services.
Domestic service
Delivers to the destinations in UAE.

- The services provided are on the basis of Premium, Express, Government and Mailroom categories
- Charges vary with the weight of the parcel and the destination

Delivers to the destinations outside UAE.

Government Services
Several government services can be availed at Emirates Post, like
- Emirates ID cardholders need to collect their new/renewed Emirates ID at the Post office

- Can avail Abu Dhabi distribution company services
- Can pay police fines at Empost instead of visiting Dubai Police
- Can pay RTA fines

Emirates Post provides the license of inner courier services in the UAE region. AED 100,000 is charged for the license to provide courier services in UAE.
Local and International money transfer
Emirates post provides money transfer facilities to the customers. The ways to transfer money at the Empost is through

- Ordinary Postal Money order.
Stamps, Envelopes, and Postcards
Individuals can buy different kinds of stamps, envelopes, and postcards at the Empost.
Each envelope cost range from 50 fils to AED 15.
Marketing Solutions
Empost provides advertising, printing and promotional services to its customers. The fees charged depend on the service availed.
- For advertising flyers, the fees start at AED 50
- For advertising through postal stamps, AED 50,000 is charged for 3 months
Other Services
Apart from the logistics and other government services, there are other services also provided by the Empost. Like,

- Can book Fly Dubai tickets
- Can book Air Arabia tickets
- Can get an international driving permit. (Service fees of AED 170 is charged)

Other than the offline services, some of the e-services that can be availed at Emirates post are:
- Track and Trace: Customers can track their parcel/mails using the tracking number provided on the bills and know the status of their parcel.
- Can calculate the rates to ship their parcel and get an approximate rate.
- Can apply for a new P.O.Box or renew it online

All the Emirates Post offices are open from Sunday-Thursday and the timings are 7:30 – 15:00. Working days and timings may vary during public holidays.
