zero installment plan

The MacBook and iPhone that you have been wanting to have for a long time could be yours at an easy monthly installment plan.

What is an Installment Plan?

It is nothing but a repayment scheme in which you can do transactions using your credit card, and pay off the amount in several equal payments over the course of months. In a zero Installment Plan, you can do the above but at an absolutely zero interest rate. No interest rate will be charged for the given installment period unless you payback all the installments on time.

Let’s take an example of zero installment plan for the better understanding

Say you’ve made a purchase of iPhone 6s of prize AED 2100 using Emirates NBD zero installment plan on a 12 months repayment period.

Your installment amount would be 2100/12 months = AED 175 every month over the span of 12 months.

If you pay installments on time and make sure you follow all the terms and conditions, you will not be charged a single Dirham in interest during the entire span of repayment.

Repayment and Interest rates

In most of the banks, repayment period could be as low as 3 months or could be as high as 48 months. If you’re unable to make repayments on time or you miss your installment payments, then you can be charged with interest rates that could be as high as 18% for the entire outstanding amount. Similarly, if you do full repayment of your outstanding amount to the bank, you’ll be charged an Administrative fee that can be as high as AED 100 or more. Administrative fees include penalty(if any), early settlement fees, processing fees etc.,

Terms and Conditions

Before making any purchase, check the bank’s terms and conditions you need to stick to for the zero installment plan. Some common conditions are:

– The repayment period for your zero installment plan

– The minimum investment you need to make to be eligible for the plan

– The items that can be purchased under that plan

– Extra administrative charges that you may sustain to execute the plan

Few of the Zero Installment Plans are:

You can benefit from zero installment plan by paying for expensive items without sustaining heavy interest charges on your credit card and by putting your lump sum amount which otherwise you would have used to pay off the purchase into an investment account, hence making money by earning interest from the banks.

The only thing you need to make sure is to pay the installments on time and never do full payment of the outstanding amount to the bank. Remember these two points and you are good to apply for zero installment loan.
