RTA(Road & Transport Authority) of Dubai took a great initiative with an intention to make people use public transport. The Public Transport Day falls on November 1, 2017, on which the two persons who use open transport like bus, metro, trams etc frequently could win you AED 50,000.

The UAE Government is very particular about its public health, be it on imposing VAT on fizzy drinks and cigarettes in order to cut down smoking or Road accidents awareness campaigns and now creating fitness awareness among people. According to a survey in 2016, there were more than 500 million who used open transport which has increased in comparison to the previous years. An annual report will be taken on November 1st every year by the RTA in order to make the Public Transport day grand and 2 lucky winners who have more points on using open transport on regular basis will get to win AED 50,000 each.

Apart from this RTA has organized a fitness team who will motivate the public to exercise daily for 30 minutes and conduct competitions. Any physical activity related to fitness is accepted which includes even running to catch a bus on time. This fitness awareness campaign runs from November 1, 2017, to November 18, 2017, and the winners get handsome prizes. In this busy city, Dubai around 60% of them uses their own transport to travel. Using public transport not only saves you a lot of money but also keeps you fit as you tend to walk/run from one point to another and win AED 50,000 in addition. So these kinds of activities will encourage people to take public transport as well as stay fit and healthy.
